CityPulse Adelaide - Setting sail into future prosperity

 

Kim Cheater is the Adelaide Managing Partner for PwC.  During his time at PwC, Kim has led the Risk, Governance, Internal Audit, IT Consulting and Cyber Security businesses, along with the firm’s Government Sector and Financial Services practice areas.  In July 2016 Kim was appointed as the Adelaide market’s Managing Partner and to PwC’s 2020 Leadership Team.

 

Kim will share details from CityPulse Adelaide, revealing that our City's liveability and accessibility are its defining characteristics.  He will also discuss opportunities to make a better future for the state and the challenges they entail.

Medical Health Services for Isolated Communities near Cusco, Peru project

 

Trevor spent 34 years as a teacher with the Education Department of SA and in the last 10 years of his teaching career he was appointed Principal at Clare Primary School and Seacliff Primary School.  After leaving the Education Department he worked in the grain industry for two years with the then SA Cooperative Bulking Handling, spent four years as Manager of Fundraising for Scouts SA, and finally spent three years as Director of Development at Unity College at Murray Bridge.

 

In addition to initiating a Matching Grant and a Global Grant, Trevor has established the “Kids of Cusco Project” – a humanitarian project with the objective of improving the education and health of children - and has raised over $56,000 through funds raising activities.

Guest Speaker: Dr Steven Lapidge, CEO, Food Waste Cooperative Reserach Centre

The National Fight Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre

 

Dr Steven Lapidge is the inaugural CEO of the Fight Food Waste Cooperative Research Centre (FFW CRC).  He has spent much of his 20-year career working for or with agribusiness CRCs, with a strong focus on new product development and commercialisation.  Steve led the development of the FFW CRC bid and in recent years has represented Australia at G20, OECD and national food waste forums.  He is a member of the National Food Waste Strategy Steering Committee and a Non-Executive Director of the Australian Institute of Food Science and Technology.

Impact of the Adelaide Fringe

 

Heather first worked at The Adelaide Fringe running events and venues from 1992– 2002, spent a decade interstate and overseas running festivals and events, and took up the position of CEO at the Adelaide Fringe in 2015.  She is known as a visionary in the creative sector who delivers innovative festival programs, new audiences and organisational growth.

 

Under her leadership, every festival she has run has seen an increase in turn over, been met with high critical acclaim, delivered growth in ticket sales and expanded audience demographic.

During the year the Rotary Club of Adelaide engages in a number of projects and events to; raise money, deliver goodwill, do good things in a local or international community and generally assist in our world.
Cooking breakfast at the Hutt Street Centre, delivering furniture or vouchers for those in need, raising money through our Trailblazer by the Sea TM event, working on aid projects in the Phillipines, helping young people develop an interest in Science and Technology, being a marshal at the annual Christmas Pageant and more!
