Playing with Fire – A pyromaniac’s story 

Peter morphed from a mechanical engineering apprentice to a chemical engineering academic and published author. Highlights along the way, include driving a steam locomotive for a living, free range engineering in the cement industry, a senior role with a supplier to the oil & gas industry, founding and running an international combustion engineering business, Olympic stadium flames & torches, other entertainment flames, travel in every continent, except Antarctica and a flight in Concorde!
 
Peter will highlight many of the influences on his life, including school teachers, mentors, pure good luck, as well as his passion for restoring, which arose from the shortages following WWII.  Recognising the importance of mentors, he continues to mentor students in chemical process design and process safety, well past retirement age.
