Walk for Peace – Peace in the City 2026

Can a single walk in our city make a difference in the world? We think so.

WFP26 Walkers

Walk for Peace - Peace in the City brings people of all backgrounds together for a 7km community walk celebrating connection, unity, and goodwill, ending with a celebration at Peace Park - Karrawirra on Sir Edwin Smith Drive, North Adelaide. During the walk you will visit symbolic Peace Poles, each carrying messages of peace in different languages. Ambassadors along the route will welcome walkers at each Peace Pole and share some words of inspiration. Peace Poles are located throughout the city, including St Aloysious College, Whitmore Square, Adelaide Oval and St Peter’s Cathedral.

Participants can choose to walk the whole 7km route or choose sections of the walk only.

Walk for Peace – Peace in the City reminds us that peace isn’t just something that happens at the United Nations or in diplomatic meetings. It starts with everyday choices: choosing respect over judgment, conversation over assumption, and making sure everyone in our city feels they belong. When Adelaide practises kindness and inclusion, we help build the foundations of peace everywhere.
