Guest Speaker Hadi Jafari, Youth Director RC Regency Park

"Populism" and the consequences of populism

I’m a university student studying a Bachelor of Laws and International Relations at Flinders University. I love multiculturalism and helping people through different community programs.

My work with Rotary started in 2022, when I was the President of a Rotaract Club. Through Rotaract, I participated in different Rotary programs and other community activities. It was through Rotaract that I met people from Rotary, particularly members of the Rotary Club of Regency Park, which I later joined. Serving as youth director of Rotory club of Regency park.

When I joined Rotary, I came to understand how Rotarians, despite their age, continue to work hard for the future of Australia without ever saying it aloud. Everyone makes a promise to themselves to contribute to the progress of this country.

Seeing this made me think deeply, broadly, and responsibly about the future of Adelaide and Australia in general. It has encouraged me to actively participate in today’s intellectual and social discussions and to play a responsible role in building the future.
