Overland to Darwin and back 1926-2026In 1926, my Great Grandfather, Clarence Judd, was a paying passenger on the first “Bagot’s Northern Territory Motor Tour”, the World’s longest commercial motor tour at the time.Earlier this year, to celebrate the centenary, we re-created the trip. The first half of the presentation will be a screening of the 100 year old film which chronicles the original tour. The film is a fascinating look at outback life in 1926 and full of historical footage of the cities and towns along the way. Following that I will have a short presentation about our recently completed re-enactment, drawing some parallels, then plenty of time for questions. |
