Regular networking opportunities with a diverse membership

Diverse…Showing a great deal of variety; very different.

Diversity refers to inclusion of people from many groups. It is our source of innovation, as well as one of Rotary’s core values.

Having members with different backgrounds and viewpoints gives our club a broader understanding of the community, its problems, and possible solutions.

Our members offer our club a diversity of gender, age, ethnicity, cultures, skills, talents, vocational backgrounds and experiences, to provide greater capacity to serve our community and communities around the world.

We believe that equally important, is creating a culture of inclusion, where these differences are respected, supported and valued. The Rotary Club of Adelaide has changed, and continues to evolve into a more contemporary organisation, to reflect the diversity of our community.

We have a lot of young members, many with families. We have members from a variety of cultural backgrounds, many of whom have chosen to migrate to Adelaide and simply contribute to society.

Our Club has welcomed and celebrated female members for many years and proactively supports International Women’s Day. We support organisations in our city that specifically work for the wellbeing and interests of women.  Catherine House is one example. Women hold leadership positions on our Board and lead committees.

Members and guests of the Rotary Club of Adelaide may experience diversity in a number of ways during the course of networking opportunities.

Our regular weekly meetings offer opportunities to sit with members who can offer advice and assistance across a broad spectrum of issues and opportunities vocationally, professionally and socially.

Each month we hold a separate evening social get together where one of our members speaks about their work, interest or achievements.
There are also opportunities to be part of what Rotary calls “Fellowships”. Rotary Fellowships are independent, social groups that share a common passion.
Being part of a Rotary fellowship is a fun way to make friends around the world. One group in which our Club has a proud involvement with is, Golf.

Throughout the year our club supports community and social events, fundraisers, projects and international activities that provide a diverse range of options for our members to get involved.

And if you travel, you will be welcome as a Rotarian, at Club medtings and social functions all over the world!
And of course, being part of a diverse membership, means that you are just a phone call or email away from finding an answer, discussing a problem, or simply just catching up.
